The World Cup starts on Sunday, Nov. 20 — a date that was changed just a short time before the competition — with the primary gathering stage match, between Qatar, the host country, and Ecuador. The gathering stage goes through Dec. 2, with up to four games every day.
Groups
The 32 groups are partitioned into eight gatherings of four, assigned by the letters A-H, and each group plays the wide range of various groups in its gathering once. The main two finishers in each gathering advance to the round of 16, which starts on Saturday, Dec. 3. From that point forward, the World Cup is a straight knockout competition, through the last on Sunday, Dec. 18.
In the US, English-language broadcasts will air on Fox or its link channel FS1 (numerous membership web-based features incorporate those channels, like SlingTV, Fubo and Vidgo). Spanish-language broadcasts will air on Telemundo or Universo and will stream on Peacock (the initial 12 games won't need a paid membership).

A Short Manual for the 2022 World Cup
Card 1 of 9
What is the World Cup?
The quadrennial occasion pits the best public soccer groups against one another for the title of best on the planet. Here is a preliminary to the 2022 men's competition:
Where is it being held?
The current year's host is Qatar, which in 2010 beat the US and Japan to win the option to hold the competition. Whether that was a genuine contest stays in question.
When is it?
The competition opened on Nov. 20, when Qatar played Ecuador. Over the two weeks that follow, four games will be played as a general rule. The competition closes with the last on Dec. 18.
Is a colder time of year World Cup ordinary? No. The World Cup as a rule happens in July. In any case, in 2015, FIFA presumed that the late spring temperatures in Qatar could have upsetting ramifications for fans and players and consented to move the competition to the moderately endurable long stretches of November and December.
What number of groups are contending?
32. Qatar qualified naturally as the host, and following quite a while of matches, the other 31 groups procured the option to come and play. Meet the groups here.
How does the competition function?
The 32 groups are partitioned into eight gatherings of four. In the initial stage, each group plays a wide range of various groups in its gathering once. The best two finishers in each gathering advance to the round of 16. From that point forward, the World Cup is a straight knockout competition.
How might I watch the World Cup in the U.S.?
The competition will be communicated on Fox and FS1 in English, and on Telemundo in Spanish. You can live stream it on Peacock, or on web-based features that convey Fox and FS1. This is the way to watch each match.
When will the games happen?
Qatar is five hours in front of London, eight hours in front of New York and 11 hours in front of Los Angeles. That implies there will be predawn the opening shots on the East Shore of the US for certain games, and midafternoon begins for 10 p.m. games in Qatar.
